Mental Health Awareness Week

09 May | By

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week.

The official theme this year is loneliness.

For a lot of us, particularly those in later life, loneliness can define our lives and have a significant impact on our wellbeing.

Take part in tackling loneliness and isolation by building meaningful connections with your service users, friends, family, colleagues and communities. Let’s connect for mental health! 🌻

Ways you can connect for mental health:

☎️ Check in on someone you haven’t spoken to in a while
💚 Introduce yourself to your elderly neighbour
💌 Sign-up to Hales Penpal
👥 Build a connection over a shared interest by signing up to a club or group
☕️ Set up a regular tea break for the team to drop in to for an informal chat
👟 Do a walking meeting with a colleague you don’t often work with
🗓 Reserve a break in your work diary to have a check in with a colleague

If you work in social care, talk with someone who gets it.

For free, confidential, emotional support:

Call 0300 303 4434 from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, for trauma and bereavement support from Just B

Text FRONTLINE to 85258 or call 0800 069 6222 from 7am to 11pm if you’re in England, or 116 123 any time if you’re elsewhere in the UK, to talk to Samaritans.

All in confidence with trained volunteers.
